Yes! All SIUSOM faculty, students, staff, and residents can borrow books and other materials from 90+ academic libraries in Illinois via I-Share.
View the document at the end of this FAQ for step-by-step instructions on how to request items from participating I-Share libraries, or follow the steps below:
- On the Library homepage, click on Find > Search the Catalog
- Click on Sign In in the upper right corner and enter your OpenAthens credentials (email ejournals@siumed.edu if you need assistance with OA).
- Once signed in, enter the title you are looking for into the search bar and set the dropdown menu to All I-Share Libraries
- Click Search
- Click on the book you want to bring up the item record
- Click on I-Share in the "How to get it" section
- Click on Submit Request
A copy of the requested book will be sent to the SIUSOM Medical Library within 3-5 business days. You will be notified by email when it is ready for pickup. Please contact circulation@siumed.edu or 217-545-2658 for any help.
Please note: I-Share requests are only for print books, CDs, and DVDs.
